Entities and Structures

Entities are elements that can be used to describe a client, their structure, equipment, personnel, or any other element that can be identified by unique characteristics. For example, the company’s premises and their respective addresses, department heads and their teams. Another example would be fire equipment or vehicles that need to be tracked periodically. Entities are useful for pre-filling reference data that will then be used in services by synchronizing them with forms.

Here are some steps to help you start organizing and thinking in terms of entities:

Identify key elements: Identify the key elements you want to track. These can be people, objects, places, or any other element you want to track.

Determine the fields: Determine the fields for each element. Fields are unique characteristics that describe each element. For example, if you are tracking people, fields might include name, address, phone number, etc.

Create relationships: Create relationships between entities. Relationships describe how entities are related to each other. For example, if you are tracking employees, you can create a relationship between the employees and the departments they belong to.

Organize the entities: Organize the entities into logical groups. Logical groups can be based on common fields or similar relationships.

Use the entities: Use the entities to organize and structure data. Entities allow you to search and filter data more easily.
